Production Worker

At Perla Foods, the Production Worker is essential to the safe and efficient stuffing and packaging of products. This role requires maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, following established procedures, and adhering to food safety and operational standards. Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare and set up workstations with ingredients, tools, and packaging materials. Stuff peppers, olives, and other products according to recipes and specifications. Weigh and inspect products to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with standards. Follow all operational procedures, GMPs, and safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE. Accept and inspect incoming semi-finished products for quality and completeness. Monitor product quality and consistency throughout the stuffing and packaging process. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace. Handle and organize packaging materials safely and efficiently. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely production. Maintain productivity and quality standards, striving to meet or exceed expectations. Perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Lift objects up to 25-50 lbs safely. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks safely and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Experience in food manufacturing, regulated production, or food service. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations. Experience with quality checks, product inspections, or basic production documentation. Previous experience with packaging or stuffing machinery is a plus. Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are a plus. Associate degree or certification in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field is a plus. Working Conditions Work in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, moisture, and food products. Work may occur in hot, cold, or refrigerated areas (40°F-50°F). Employees must follow plant sanitation, hygiene, and safety policies, and wear appropriate PPE. Schedule may change based on production needs, including evenings, weekends, or overtime.

Physical Requirements Lifting and Carrying:

Boxes or containers of products and packaging materials (25-50 lbs).

Comfortable performing tasks at various levels.

Food Safety Responsibilities All employees are responsible for supporting the company's food safety and quality initiatives by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation procedures, and company food safety policies. Employees must report any food safety or product quality concerns immediately to management.
