Job Title:
Entry Level General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker supports multiple areas within a manufacturing shop, performing a variety of tasks to keep production and warehouse operations running smoothly. This role requires reliability, flexibility to work in any assigned area, and the ability to handle physically demanding work, including consistent heavy lifting and use of basic measuring tools. Responsibilities Work in multiple areas of the shop as assigned, supporting both production and warehouse operations. Perform general production tasks such as assembly, labelling, packaging, and loading as needed. Use a tape measure accurately to support production activities and ensure proper measurements. Read and interpret blueprints to complete tasks according to specifications and quality standards. Handle heavy lifting of materials and products up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift. Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment when required, following safety procedures. Pick and prepare orders using RF scanners and other warehouse systems. Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials and finished goods. Maintain warehouse inventory by organizing, counting, and tracking products and materials. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area. Adapt to changing priorities and tasks, and work in any area requested to support overall operations. Essential Skills Proficiency in using a tape measure accurately for production tasks. Ability to read and interpret blueprints with previous experience working from blueprints. Willingness to work in any area of the shop as requested and perform a variety of production and warehouse tasks. Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general production work in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Experience operating sit-down forklifts and other forklift equipment. Experience in picking, loading, and packaging orders. Familiarity with RF scanners for picking and inventory tasks. Experience in shipping and receiving operations. Knowledge of warehouse inventory processes, including organizing and tracking materials. Experience with assembly and labelling tasks in a production environment. Why Work Here? The environment is active and fast-paced, with a focus on safety, organization, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eureka, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
