Production Associate Job Description This role operates in a clean, high-tech manufacturing environment focused on producing small electronic components used in vehicles, medical equipment, communication devices, and industrial electronics. You will primarily run production machinery, inspect fine components under a microscope, and ensure products meet strict quality standards. The position suits someone who enjoys detailed, precise work, values accuracy, and prefers a quieter, less physically demanding manufacturing setting. You will be cross-trained on different machines and tasks, and you are expected to flex between inspection, machine operation, and other production duties as needed. Responsibilities

+ Visually inspect small electronic components for defects using a microscope, tweezers, and other hand tools.

+ Operate production machinery while consistently meeting quality, yield, and efficiency standards.

+ Learn and use micrometers and perform simple machine adjustments as instructed.

+ Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment ( PPE ) at all times.

+ Transfer completed materials and components between workstations in an accurate and timely manner.

+ Complete production and quality documentation accurately and legibly, including any required computer entries.

+ Maintain a clean, organized work area, including equipment and tools, in line with clean manufacturing standards.

+ Follow quality system procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures without deviation.

+ Collaborate with leads, supervisors, and team members, responding positively to direction and requests to assist in other production areas.

+ Participate in cross-training on different machines and processes to support overall production needs.

+ Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to work as scheduled and being open to occasional schedule adjustments, including occasional Saturdays and early start times when needed. Essential Skills

+ Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Prior inspection experience in manufacturing, preferably involving small components or detailed visual inspection.

+ Ability to perform visual inspection using microscopes and handle fine components with tweezers and hand tools.

+ Basic computer skills for completing production and quality documentation.

+ Strong hand-eye coordination for handling small electronic parts and operating precision equipment.

+ High attention to detail and accuracy in inspection, documentation, and machine operation.

+ Reliability and flexibility, including willingness to be cross-trained on different machines and tasks.

+ Ability to lift up to 10 pounds as part of regular job duties.

+ Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist others and work collaboratively rather than independently.

+ Comfort working in a clean manufacturing or cleanroom-type environment with small electronic components. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience assembling, working with, or visually inspecting fine copper wire, magnetic cores, and small electronic parts.

+ Experience working under a microscope in a production or inspection setting.

+ Experience in general production work, including machine operating and use of hand tools.

+ Interest in developing skills in electronics manufacturing, machine operation, and quality inspection.

+ Openness to structured training and learning to use micrometers and other precision measuring tools.

Work Environment The work takes place in a clean, high-tech manufacturing facility focused on small electronic components, including fine copper wire, magnetic cores, and other precision parts. Employees work with microscopes, small electronic parts, assembly equipment, and hand tools in a quieter, less physically demanding environment than a traditional foundry or heavy industrial plant. The facility requires adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment ( PPE ). Basic computer systems are used for production and quality documentation. Work involves light material handling, including lifting up to 10 pounds and transferring materials between workstations. Multiple shifts are available. First shift typically runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional voluntary early start times at 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. and openness to occasional Saturday work. Second shift generally operates Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with training conducted on second shift and a team structure that includes leads. Third shift operates approximately 30 hours per week, from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with training conducted on third shift. Shift differentials may apply for second and third shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oregon, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00
