This is a hands-on manufacturing position supporting our electroplating operations. The Parts Racker works directly with our platers to properly prepare customer parts for the plating process. Responsibilities include attaching parts to plating racks or fixtures, wiring parts when necessary, unracking finished parts, drying and visually inspecting parts, packaging completed work, and helping maintain an efficient and clean plating line. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is dependable, pays attention to detail, and is willing to learn the metal finishing trade. Previous electroplating experience is not required—we will train the right person. Duties Rack customer parts onto plating racks, hooks, fixtures, or wires according to job requirements Properly orient and secure parts to obtain good electrical contact and an acceptable plating finish Follow job cards and special instructions regarding part orientation, handling, racking, wiring, drying, visual quality, and packaging Assist platers with preparing jobs for processing through the plating line Unrack finished parts carefully to prevent scratching, bending, marking, or other damage Dry, visually inspect, count, and package completed parts as required Keep parts from different customers, jobs, and lots properly identified and separated Handle customer parts carefully throughout the production process Assist with moving racks, containers, parts, and other production materials Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist with general plating-line housekeeping Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Work safely around plating tanks, chemicals, wet surfaces, production equipment, and other industrial hazards Perform other production duties as assigned by the Plater or management Work overtime when required Qualifications No previous electroplating experience required; on-the-job training will be provided Previous manufacturing, production, metal finishing, machine shop, assembly, or similar hands-on experience is helpful but not required Ability to follow verbal and written instructions carefully Good attention to detail and ability to recognize obvious defects or improperly positioned parts Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work effectively as part of a production team Comfortable performing repetitive hands-on work while maintaining quality and productivity Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods Ability to safely lift and move parts, racks, containers, and other production materials Willingness to work in an industrial metal-finishing environment around machinery, noise, water, plating solutions, and chemical processes Ability and willingness to wear required PPE and follow all safety rules Must be willing to learn proper racking techniques and the requirements of different parts and plating processes Work Environment This position is performed primarily indoors in an active electroplating and metal-finishing facility. Employees work around plating tanks, rectifiers, fans, dryers, compressors, wet or slippery surfaces, moving equipment, and chemical processes. Proper PPE and adherence to established safety procedures are required. The work is physical and hands-on and requires standing, handling parts, and moving between work areas throughout the shift. Schedule Full-time position 40 hours per week Five-day workweek Day shift Overtime may be required based on production needs About the Position This is not a warehouse inventory or automotive parts position . It is a manufacturing position directly involved in the electroplating process. You will learn how parts are prepared, positioned, handled, inspected, and packaged as they move through our metal-finishing operation. We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, willing to work, and interested in learning a skilled manufacturing trade . Someone who performs well in this position can develop valuable experience in electroplating and metal finishing and may have opportunities to learn additional production responsibilities.
