Full-Time / Seasonal Position Summary The Grain Laborer assists with the daily operations of grain handling, storage, loading, unloading, and facility maintenance. This position works alongside grain and farm personnel to ensure grain is moved efficiently and safely while maintaining clean and organized facilities and equipment. Key Responsibilities Load and unload grain from trucks, trailers, bins, grain carts, and other equipment. Operate grain augers, conveyors, grain vacuums, dryers, and other grain-handling equipment. Assist with receiving, weighing, sampling, and storing grain. Monitor grain flow and equipment during loading and unloading operations. Assist with grain bin operations, including cleaning, inspection, and maintenance. Perform routine cleaning of grain bins, receiving areas, conveyors, elevators, and other facilities. Assist with grain drying and conditioning operations as directed. Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on grain-handling equipment and facilities. Operate tractors, skid steers, loaders, and other farm equipment as needed. Maintain accurate records and follow instructions regarding grain movement and storage. Follow all grain-handling, equipment, chemical, and workplace safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Assist with general farm and facility duties as needed. Qualifications Previous farm, grain handling, or agricultural experience preferred but not required. Ability to safely operate basic farm and grain-handling equipment. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to follow directions and safety procedures. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license preferred. CDL is a plus but may not be required. Grain elevator or confined-space experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at elevated heights. Ability to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and other outdoor or agricultural environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime during harvest and other peak operating periods. Safety Responsibilities The Grain Laborer is expected to follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lockout/tagout, fall protection, grain-bin entry, equipment operation, and personal protective equipment requirements. Grain entrapment and confined-space hazards require strict adherence to established safety procedures.
Compensation Pay:
Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule:
Full-time and/or seasonal opportunities available, with overtime and extended hours commonly required during harvest.
