Job Description
Job Overview Willing to train an experience individual with a background in sheet metal for the position of a CNC Press Brake Setup/Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Amada CNC press brake machines to produce precision sheet metal components. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment and contribute to the fabrication of metal parts used across various industries. Duties Set up and calibrate CNC press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and tooling alignment for each job. Program CNC press brakes using CAD/CAM software to create precise bend sequences based on detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently, monitoring operations to maintain quality and production targets. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to execute accurate bends. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections using calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to ensure parts meet specifications. Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to safety standards. Utilize hand tools, forklifts, and other mechanical equipment as needed for material handling and setup. Experience Proven experience operating CNC press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming, blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and sheet metal fabrication processes. Familiarity with other machining equipment such as CNC laser cutting, CNC turret presses, and welding techniques is a plus. Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for precise measurement and setup adjustments. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret engineering specifications. Experience with tooling selection, setup procedures, quality inspection methods, and safety protocols in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of forklift operation is preferred but not mandatory.
