Duties Operate paint booths using conventional spraying, airless paint spraying, and powder coating techniques to apply finishes according to production specifications. Prepare surfaces for painting by performing construction painting surface preparation and auto body repair tasks, ensuring optimal adhesion and finish quality. Use hand tools, power tools, and coating spray guns accurately to achieve precise coating coverage on various parts and assemblies. Interpret production documents such as work orders and technical specifications to ensure correct application of coatings and finishes. Handle materials safely using forklifts and other equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols including PPE use such as respirators and respiratory protection gear. Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished products for quality standards in production finishing. Maintain cleanliness of the paint booth area, manage materials handling efficiently, and document all processes accurately for quality control purposes. Requirements Proven experience with industrial painting, auto painting, or powder coating processes in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of coating types, spray guns (including airless), hand tools, power tools, and machining techniques related to finishing operations. Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and measurements using precision measuring instruments. Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE adherence, respirator use, and respiratory protection measures. Mechanical knowledge related to auto body repair, construction surface preparation, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in coating applications. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency.
