Job Description
PEM is looking for a dependable Production Band Saw Operator to join our team. We offer competitive pay, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance, and a great workplace culture. This position operates an automatic vertical band saw to cut steel to specifications and requires manufacturing experience, blueprint reading, and the ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch. Essential Duties Operate an automatic vertical band saw to cut steel to customer and production specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production documents. Accurately measure materials using a tape measure to within 1/16 inch. Maintain raw material inventory and ensure materials are readily available for production. Unload, organize, and store incoming steel materials. Safely operate an overhead crane and forklift. Perform routine preventative maintenance on band saw equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and quality standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Manufacturing experience required; experience operating a production band saw preferred. Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions. Ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen. This position may initially be filled through a staffing agency.
