Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This Media Production Specialist position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Public Relations. This position provides high-quality media services for KDOT, requiring travel throughout the state to capture and produce media content as needed. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Works directly with customers to determine photography needs and capture professional images for KDOT projects, programs, events and other agency needs. Assignments may include construction projects, transportation infrastructure, live traffic, agency events, employee and leadership portraits
Uses professional cameras, lighting, flashes and related equipment to capture images. Edits and prepares digital images using professional photo-editing software to meet customer needs.
Works directly with customers to determine audiovisual needs and provides setup, operation and support for meetings, public events and presentations statewide. Sets up and operates audiovisual equipment, including microphones, sound systems, computers, projectors, displays and other presentation equipment. May provide recording or livestreaming support for meetings and events.
Works directly with customers to determine video and multimedia needs and captures video for KDOT projects, programs, events and other agency needs statewide. Manages video assignments from initial planning through production, editing and delivery of the finished product.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in media communications/production work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
Experience with photography and photographic equipment. Experience with video cameras and video editing equipment. Valid Driver's License at time of appointment.
