Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Basic math skills required for measuring, counting, and verifying product specifications. Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately complete production and shipping documentation. Experience Requirements Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, material handling, packaging, shipping, or steel processing environments preferred. Ability to read and use measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. Experience operating or working around overhead cranes, forklifts, banding equipment, or industrial machinery is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify product specifications, serial numbers, work orders, and shipping requirements. Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and productivity goals. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with temperatures up to 105°F and exposure to industrial noise, oil, and sharp metal edges. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and protective sleeves. Job Duties Assist with coil handling, packaging, and shipping operations, including banding, labeling, and preparing finished products for customer delivery. Verify product dimensions, serial numbers, work orders, and identification tags to ensure inventory accuracy, traceability, and quality compliance. Load coils onto pallets and transport finished materials using approved material handling equipment, including electric jib cranes and forklifts. Support production operations by assisting with recoiler, turnstile, down-tilting, and shear leveling processes while rotating duties as needed. Move finished products to shipping and storage areas and maintain accurate production and shipping records. Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and operational procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and performing additional duties as assigned.
