JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Welder, Refinisher & Shop Technician to join our team. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is eager to support our daily operations. You will be responsible for performing a variety of basic tasks, including industrial painting, operating media blasting equipment, material handling, basic welding and facility maintenance. No prior specialized experience is required; we are willing to train individuals with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Shop & Yard Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace both inside the shop facility and outside in the yard. Duties include sweeping work bays, emptying trash, clearing debris, and organizing raw materials and scrap metal.
Basic Welding:
Perform basic, non-structural welding tasks (such as simple tack welding) and assist others welders in moving materials, holding components in place, fetching tools, and preparing work areas for production.
Basic Surface Preparation:
Learn to safely set up and operate sandblasting equipment to clean rust, paint, and scale off metal parts before they are processed.
Basic Equipment Maintenance:
Assist with routine, non-technical upkeep of machinery and tools, such as wiping down equipment, checking fluid levels, and reporting any broken tools/equipment.
Indoor & Outdoor Tasks:
Transition comfortably between indoor shop duties and outdoor yard tasks (such as loading/unloading materials or cleaning outdoor work areas) across all seasons and weather conditions.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts/pallet jacks for moving materials and unloading trucks.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
No welding or technical experience required; basic familiarity with welding and power tools is a plus, and hands-on training will be provided. Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential. Ability to understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and bend throughout the day, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to work in an industrial environment that includes noise, dust, and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures. Commitment to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
