Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Intern supports the Production Manager with the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of daily production activities. This position works closely with production teams, fabrication shops, the Quality Control (QC) department, and plant staff to help ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to project specifications. The Production Intern will gain hands-on experience in production management, quality control, scheduling, and coordination within a manufacturing environment. The Production Intern reports to the Operations Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Production Manager with daily production scheduling, planning, and coordination. Support production staff with daily administrative and operational tasks. Coordinate with fabrication shops and plant staff to track production progress, schedules, and priorities. Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) department to help monitor production quality and ensure products are manufactured to specifications. Assist with identifying and communicating production issues, delays, or quality concerns to the appropriate team members. Assist in scheduling, crew management, material takeoffs, fabrication supervision, coordination, and maintenance of production activities. Collaborate with project management, engineering, scheduling, quality control, logistics, and other departments as needed. Participate in meetings with production teams and other departments and assist with documenting action items and follow-ups. Help prepare materials, equipment, and documentation needed for production. Maintain organized production records, files, schedules, and production logs. Communicate with team members to track production progress, deadlines, and outstanding tasks. Assist in verifying that products and production activities meet applicable project requirements and specifications. Perform research and gather information to support production and operational needs. Help with onsite setup, breakdown, logistics, or other field activities, as applicable. Other projects and duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with clear driving record. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Construction Management with a concrete-focused curriculum, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant field. Interest in production operations, manufacturing, construction, concrete, or project coordination. Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or relevant tools. Willingness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on production environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to respond to changing production needs. Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires constant (70-100%) standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, hearing (listening), and observing (vision). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust and focus. This position is subject to onsite hazards, including but not limited to moving industrial equipment, hazardous energies (LOTO), confined spaces, climbing ladders, working at heights, working on uneven or unimproved surfaces, and areas of high noise levels. Candidate shall be able to be medically qualified, including respiratory clearance through evaluation of ability to wear a respirator if needed.
