Manufacturing Shop Assistant Maverick Tech Franklin, MA Job Details Part-time $17.10 - $22.00 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Measuring tapes Safety protocol adherence High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description About the Role As a Manufacturing Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our production team by ensuring materials are prepared, organized, and ready for fabrication. You will contribute to the efficiency of our shop floor by managing inventory, assisting with equipment operation, and maintaining a safe, high-functioning workspace. Responsibilities Prepare materials for production by performing precision grinding, deburring, and cutting using band saws and cold saws. Support senior fabricators with equipment setup, positioning, and complex assembly tasks to streamline workflows. Maintain optimal shop organization by managing stock racks, labeling parts, and staging raw materials for upcoming projects. Execute shipping and receiving duties, including loading/unloading trucks and palletizing finished goods for distribution. Perform routine shop maintenance and groundskeeping to ensure a clean, hazard-free environment. Operate material handling equipment and assist with local logistics, including supply pickups and customer deliveries. Proactively assist with light fabrication processes, such as drilling and tapping, as your technical skills develop. Required Skills High School Diploma or equivalent. Proven ability to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. Proficiency in reading tape measures and using basic hand or power tools. Valid driver's license and a strong commitment to workplace safety protocols. Reliable, self-motivated work ethic with a focus on team collaboration. Preferred Skills Prior experience in a shop, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Willingness to obtain certification for forklift and overhead crane operation. Basic knowledge of welding techniques or metal fabrication processes. Experience with warehouse inventory management and logistics.
