What You'll Do Lead and supervise the daily activities of the assembly department. Train, coach, and develop assemblers to achieve high levels of quality and productivity. Assign work based on production priorities and customer deadlines. Ensure products are assembled accurately according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications. Monitor quality throughout the assembly process and address issues before they reach the customer. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to maintain efficient workflow. Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Track production progress and communicate status to management. Assist with hands-on assembly work when needed. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications 5+ years of manufacturing assembly experience. 2+ years in a lead, supervisor, or team leader role. Experience working in sheet metal fabrication, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation. Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection requirements. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Comfortable using ERP or manufacturing software to track production. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Electro-mechanical assembly Mechanical assembly Hardware installation Riveting and fastening PEM hardware Precision sheet metal products ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems Why Join Vortex?
