Tool Crib Attendant / Manufacturing Expediter Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Tool Crib Attendant / Manufacturing Expediter to play a critical role in supporting production operations within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This position helps ensure tools, materials, parts, and work orders are available when needed and that jobs continue flowing efficiently through machining, forming, finishing, quality, and shipping departments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and proactive, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and a commitment to keeping production moving on schedule. Key Responsibilities Coordinate first article and first-piece inspections by working closely with Quality and Production teams to secure timely approvals and prevent delays. Monitor production activity throughout the facility, identifying bottlenecks, stalled work, or material shortages and taking action to resolve issues. Assemble, organize, and stage tooling, fixtures, hardware, and materials for upcoming machining and forming operations. Ensure jobs are properly prepared and available before reaching the next stage of production. Maintain accurate production tracking boards and visual management systems to communicate job status, priorities, and schedule changes. Expedite priority orders and follow up on overdue jobs to ensure production commitments are met. Transport raw materials, tooling, hardware, and completed components between departments as needed. Assist with deburring, cleaning, and part preparation activities to support manufacturing throughput. Operate basic shop equipment, including drills, mills, deburring tools, and other production equipment when required. Participate in daily production meetings to communicate status updates, identify challenges, and support continuous improvement efforts. Maintain compliance with safety requirements, PPE standards, FOD prevention practices, and 5S workplace organization initiatives. Collaborate with Forming, Machining, Quality, Finish, Shipping, and Cutting departments to ensure seamless workflow and production efficiency. Support overall manufacturing operations by helping maintain inventory control of tooling, materials, and production resources. Required Qualifications Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production, aerospace, or industrial environment. Understanding of production flow, job routing, and manufacturing processes. Experience reading and following work orders, routers, travelers, blueprints, or production schedules. Hands-on experience deburring metal components or performing similar finishing operations. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments and shifts. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common manufacturing tools, fixtures, and shop equipment. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond quickly to changing production demands. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company procedures. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting machining, sheet metal, forming, finishing, or fabrication operations. Aerospace manufacturing experience. Familiarity with titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade materials. Experience coordinating production schedules or expediting work orders. Knowledge of first article inspection processes and quality documentation. Experience using visual management tools such as production boards and tracking systems. Understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies. Exposure to operating basic machine shop equipment. Experience working with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve workflow efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
