Position Overview:
The Quality Front Line Leader is responsible for directing the daily activities and development of 25-35 hourly employees in Quality Inspector roles while also acting as the Quality Control leader within the integrated process team for our Machine Components and Assemblies value streams. This person is responsible for planning for, controlling and improving inspection processes across the assigned value streams in support of achieving World Class Manufacturing status, and our aspirational goal of being the preferred supplier to our customers and partners.Essential Responsibilities:
- Drive a culture of trust and accountability with the inspection team through clearly defined expectations, continuous feedback, coaching, and appropriate escalation.
- Attract, retain, and develop inspectors through encouraging a flexible, high performing workforce.
- Partner with team leads to coordinate daily inspection schedules and priorities within the production plan, and to satisfy and exceed customer requirements around delivery and quality.
- Partner with the Quality Engineering and Quality Management System (QMS) team to review and endorse updates to the QMS, review daily non-conforming materials (MRB), and ensure the QMS is integrated into our inspection and manufacturing processes.
- Champion continuous improvement (CI) efforts by standardizing processes, tracking and analyzing leading indicators (e.g. customer & internal DPPM), engaging employees in problem solving (8D, PFMEA), supporting CI events, and driving daily accountability and corrective and preventative actions.
- Partner with customer account representatives to ensure proactive customer communication, execution of customer quality requirements, and a focus on delivering on our commitments.
- Champion a Safety Culture through using MESH tools, safety best practices, and empowering all employees to take responsibility for their own and others' safety.
- Forecast production capacity and provide insight into monthly cross-functional reviews of financial and operational planning.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic)Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, operations or quality assurance / control experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in United States without company sponsorship.
- All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of experience as manager of people.
- 3+ years of experience of quality control or assurance experience in the aerospace industry in a manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Position Criteria:
- Advanced knowledge of a wide range of problem-solving tools and methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data-based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality.
- Knowledge of ISO9001, and aerospace quality management systems (e.
AS9100, AS13100
), and familiarity with Nadcap accreditation program.- Ability to interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, angularity, profile, various datum's (Vectors) and results from advanced measuring technique (CMM, Keyence, etc.) per acceptance criteria.
- Ability to define the Critical to Quality elements of a product/process, and analyze, assess and mitigate the risks associated with any potential failures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes as well as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Driver of change and propensity for innovation.
- Ability to convey information effectively to multiple diverse stakeholder groups at different levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop a strong cross-functional network in order to influence others to get results.
- Ability to evaluate an individual's performance and provide effective coaching in order to aide employee development.
- Ability to evaluate competing interests from different stakeholders, establish priorities, resolve conflicts, and make high quality decisions.
- Ability to understand and process business and financial data in order to identify opportunities as well as effectively convey to other stakeholders.
- Ability to periodically flex work hours to provide weekend supervision.
