Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining brake press machines to shape and form sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in machine operation, measurement, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the production of high-quality metal parts that meet strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Hours are 5am-3:30pm Operate and set up various types of brake press machines to produce accurate metal components according to technical drawings and specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to determine proper tooling, machine settings, and forming sequences. Use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure quality control throughout the production process. Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting equipment before use, and ensuring a clean and organized work area. Adjust machine parameters as needed for optimal performance, troubleshooting issues related to tooling or machine operation promptly. Collaborate with team members on tooling setup, fabrication techniques, and process improvements to enhance productivity and quality. Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines and other forming equipment such as CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, or stamping presses when required. Experience Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shop math principles. Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC lathe operations, and CNC milling is preferred. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of hand tools, measuring instruments, cranes, and other fabrication equipment. Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments for quality inspection purposes. Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes such as forming machines, stamping presses, welding, and tooling setup is highly desirable. Basic understanding of shop math concepts necessary for accurate measurement calculations during machining and forming operations.
