Job Overview We are seeking an experienced SMT Operator to support electronics manufacturing and printed circuit board assembly operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting SMT equipment used in the production of electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in an electronics manufacturing environment and be comfortable working with surface mount technology, PCB assembly, feeders, reels, stencils, solder paste, and production documentation. Responsibilities Operate SMT equipment used in printed circuit board assembly, including pick-and-place machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, and related production equipment. Set up machines for production runs by loading feeders, verifying components, checking part numbers, and following work instructions. Monitor SMT production to ensure boards are assembled accurately and efficiently. Perform basic troubleshooting when machines stop, misplace components, reject boards, or require minor adjustments. Inspect boards during and after production for defects such as missing components, misalignment, tombstoning, bridging, solder issues, or incorrect parts. Read and follow work orders, assembly drawings, BOMs, production travelers, and quality documentation. Handle electronic components safely, including ESD-sensitive materials. Perform routine machine cleaning, preventive maintenance checks, and production area organization. Work with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues and keep jobs moving. Qualifications A few years of experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, SMT operation, or similar production work. Experience operating SMT equipment is strongly preferred. Ability to read work instructions, production documentation, part numbers, and assembly drawings. Understanding of ESD procedures and proper handling of electronic components. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or process issues. Comfortable working in a production environment with quality and output expectations. IPC knowledge or certification is a plus. Experience with AOI, reflow ovens, stencil printing, feeders, or pick-and-place equipment is a plus.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
