Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tekla Software Operator / Production Control specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing Tekla Structures, a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, to create precise structural models and oversee production workflows. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination between design, fabrication, and assembly processes, contributing to the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Operate Tekla Structures software to develop detailed 3D models for structural steel and fabrication projects Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications Manage production control processes by scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting workflows based on project timelines and resource availability Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools to modify designs and ensure compatibility with manufacturing equipment such as CNC milling machines, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and stamping presses Oversee materials handling, fabrication, and assembly line activities to maintain high standards of quality and precision Coordinate with warehouse personnel for materials procurement, inventory management, and packaging requirements Conduct quality control inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensional accuracy Support tooling setup and maintenance for CNC programming, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, and other machining operations Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for accurate manufacturing processes Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, technical modifications, and inspection reports Requirements Proven experience operating Tekla Structures or similar BIM software in a manufacturing or fabrication environment Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, and CAM programming Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Fanuc systems, and factory automation technologies Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings using GD&T principles Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as welding, assembly, tooling setup, and materials handling Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools is highly desirable Hands-on experience with hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measuring techniques Warehouse experience including inventory management and packaging procedures is a plus Strong problem-solving skills combined with basic math proficiency for precise measurements and calculations Ability to work safely in a manufacturing facility while adhering to safety protocols involving forklifts or other factory equipment Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams involved in manufacturing operations Join us in this vital role where your technical expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing process.
