  • Master Fabricator to join our manufacturing team.
This role involves leading complex metal fabrication projects, interpreting detailed blueprints, and executing precise craftsmanship to produce high-quality models and structural components. The ideal candidate will possess extensive shop fabrication experience, advanced welding skills, and a thorough understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation. As a master fabricator, you will oversee fabrication processes, ensure adherence to industry standards, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes accurately. Lead the fabrication of metal models and structural components using various techniques such as
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and welding. Operate and maintain shop equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and power tools to execute precise cuts and forms. Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure dimensional accuracy according to specifications. Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks including cutting, bending, shaping, and assembly of ductwork or other sheet metal structures. Apply knowledge of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards and AWS (American Welding Society) standards to maintain quality and safety compliance. Manage rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy components with cranes or forklifts during assembly. Collaborate with design teams to interpret schematics and modify designs as necessary for manufacturing feasibility. Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Mentor junior fabricators in welding techniques, blueprint reading, shop math, and fabrication best practices. Skills Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of building environments and safety procedures. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and welding techniques. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Experience with sheet metal fabrication including cutting, bending (press brake), forming, and assembly. Knowledge of rigging operations involving cranes or forklifts for heavy lifting tasks. Familiarity with plasma cutting machines and machining equipment for detailed component fabrication. Understanding of ASME codes & standards along with AWS welding standards for quality assurance. Ability to perform pipe threading and soldering when required in fabrication projects. Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork installation, mechanical assembly, and pipe systems. Experience interpreting schematics for complex mechanical assemblies within manufacturing or construction settings.
