Ridgeview Industries is a leading metal stamping and assembly supplier primarily serving the automotive market. Our privately held and employee owned company, founded upon Christian principles, currently employs approximately 600 team members across 4 plant locations. We are seeking experienced Automatics Press Operators for our Grand Rapids, Mi. location with a patient, friendly, and positive attitude. The ideal candidate for this role will have the following credentials! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strive to achieve company objectives while demonstrating company's Mission Statement, Safety Policies, Quality Policy, and Ridgeview Principles in the performance of daily activities. Sets up and operates automatic press operations according to production instructions following Governmental and/or Company Safety and housekeeping policies/procedures.
- Follow Safety policies including consistently utilizing required personal protective equipment.
- Ensure quality requirements are achieved by completing visual and fixture checks, reading and following Quality communications, and following established process.
- Must be familiar with the operating features of a metal stamping press.
- Read, understand, and follow departmental instructions and company policies.
- Maintain work area cleanliness, 5'S principles, and organization of materials.
- Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Works well in a team environment and strives for continued improvements.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or one to six months departmental training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and write in English. Ability to present information to other employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Familiarity of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to work with basic computer programs, such as MS Word, Internet, or Apps.
- Willing to learn and perform other roles within the automatic press department (Steel Receiving, Transfer Press, Die Setting).
- Talk and hear.
- Stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
