Job Type:
Full-Time, 2nd Shift About the Opportunity A well-established forging manufacturer is seeking a Forge Team Lead to join its Redford operation. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands forging operations and can help keep a production team working safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Candidates must have either strong hands-on forge operation experience or previous experience leading a forging team or crew . This position is best suited for someone comfortable working in a demanding heavy-manufacturing environment who can lead by example and step in to support production when needed. What You'll Do
  • Lead and work alongside the forging crew during daily production
  • Coordinate workflow, production priorities, and team assignments
  • Support open die forging and seamless rolled ring operations
  • Operate and oversee forging press and related production equipment
  • Assist with moving and positioning material using forklifts, manipulators, and other equipment
  • Monitor production for safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues as they arise
  • Ensure team members follow established work instructions and safety procedures
  • Communicate production status, priorities, and issues with supervisors and operations leadership What You Bring
  • Strong hands-on forge operation experience OR previous forge team lead/crew leadership experience required
  • Knowledge of forging presses, open die forging, or related heavy industrial processes
  • Experience operating heavy manufacturing or material-handling equipment
  • Ability to lead by example while remaining hands-on with the production team
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety and safe equipment operation
  • Comfortable working in a hot, physically demanding manufacturing environment
  • Dependable, organized, and able to communicate effectively with operators and management
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
  • Willingness to work overtime as production needs require Compensation
