This position offers the right candidate room to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and move into a more advanced position as the company grows. Ideal candidates will have a strong employment background, which demonstrates stability and commitment to their former employers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the manufacture of quality paint in the most safe and efficient manner to fulfill all our customer/customer needs. Cleaning of equipment such as wash tanks, production equipment, valve and general plant and floor maintenance. Understanding raw material coding system and raw material storage locations. Following FIFO general practices. Understanding general batch ticket use, instructions and in-process checks, weighing of raw materials, proper use of scales. Understanding general warehousing, shipping, and receiving processes. Understanding the proper use of general manufacturing related equipment including mixers, material handling equipment, tanks, pumps and valves, and filtration. Understanding of documentation; filling out batch tickets and formula revision forms. Understanding how to calculate weight to gallons and gallons to weight. Responsible for handling hazardous and flammable materials in a safe working environment and proper use of grounding straps when transferring material. Responsible for making, sampling, printing labels, product packaging, and adjusting batches according to the batch tickets. Responsible for understanding and adhering to rules and regulations pertaining to Safety (OSHA) and other Federal Guidelines for working with and handling hazardous materials. Promotes and uses the elements of the companies' quality system by being familiar with its philosophy and disciplines. This position as with all positions in the company has the responsibility and authority to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of product non-conformity.
Qualifications Minimum Experience required:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of previous paint manufacturing experience and appropriate training.
Experience preferred:
2 years of previous warehouse, shipping, and receiving experience. Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to stand for 8+ hours Must have ability to comprehend basic math calculations and understand the calculation of weights and measurements Applicants must have reliable transportation Candidate must be able to work in a manufacturing & laboratory environment and be capable of wearing an air purifying respirator. To wear a respirator per OSHA regulations, candidate must pass medical evaluation/testing to qualify as a respirator user. •
