Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our cannabis manufacturing team. This position supports the full manufacturing process, including receiving, processing, production, pre-roll manufacturing, packaging, labeling, inventory, sanitation, and finished-product preparation. The Production Assistant must be able to follow detailed procedures, accurately document work, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and consistently follow company policies and Minnesota cannabis regulations. Accuracy, accountability, product quality, and compliance are essential functions of this position. Essential Responsibilities Cannabis Production Assist with the manufacturing and processing of cannabis products. Assist with pre-roll production, including grinding, weighing, filling, rolling, and packaging. Accurately weigh cannabis and other production materials according to approved work orders and batch records. Assist with product preparation and processing according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Follow production schedules and work orders. Monitor products throughout the production process for quality and consistency. Report damaged, contaminated, or questionable products immediately to the Production Lead or Manager. Packaging & Labeling Package finished cannabis products according to approved specifications. Apply labels accurately and verify required information before products are released. Inspect packaging for defects, damaged containers, incorrect labels, or other discrepancies. Maintain accurate counts of finished products and packaging materials. Assist with assembling and preparing products for wholesale and retail distribution. Inventory & Cannabis Tracking Assist with receiving and organizing cannabis and production materials. Maintain accurate physical inventory. Assist with product transfers between production stages. Follow procedures for cannabis inventory tracking and documentation. Assist with Metrc-related production and inventory procedures as directed. Immediately report inventory discrepancies to management. Maintain proper segregation and identification of products throughout production. Quality Control & Compliance Follow all company SOPs and work instructions. Follow applicable Minnesota cannabis laws and regulations. Complete required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain batch records and production paperwork. Verify weights, counts, lot/batch information, and product information. Follow established procedures for product holds, rejected product, waste, and discrepancies. Never alter production or inventory records without proper authorization. Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, products, customers, vendors, and business information. Sanitation & Facility Operations Clean and sanitize production equipment and work areas. Follow established sanitation schedules. Maintain an organized production workspace. Properly store equipment, supplies, packaging, and production materials. Assist with waste handling and disposal according to company procedures. Follow all workplace safety requirements. Report equipment problems, maintenance issues, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately. General Responsibilities Work cooperatively with Production, Inventory, Compliance, and Management teams. Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials as needed. Maintain professional communication with coworkers and team members. Attend required training and staff meetings. Follow attendance and scheduling requirements. Perform other duties related to cannabis manufacturing and facility operations as assigned. Required Qualifications Must meet all applicable Minnesota requirements for working in a cannabis business. Must be at least the 21 years of age to work in the cannabis industry. Must be able to pass any required background. Strong attention to detail. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to accurately complete paperwork and production records. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements This position may require: Standing for extended periods. Walking and working throughout a manufacturing facility. Repetitive hand and arm movements. Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials. Ability to lift and move boxes, equipment, supplies, and product within reasonable job requirements. Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Working around cannabis plant material, production equipment, cleaning products, and manufacturing machinery.
