Job Description

Day Shift- 7:45am-6:15am Mid Shift-11:00am-9:00pm (estimated)
Purpose:
To support production by metal handling and tending alloy furnaces that remelt non-ferrous alloyed metals used in die-casting process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.

Charge specified portions of scrap metal and ingots into furnaceSkim slag from surface of molten metalStir furnace, skim off dross and cold fluxMaintain alloy content and temperatureTransfer molten metal from break down furnace to holding furnaces by ladler transferTransport metal materials from work centers and stageClean furnace and equipmentMake furnace repairs as necessaryLoad and unload outgoing and incoming trucksTake spectrometer samples and testPerform monthly inventory of alloy and scrapAccurately complete reports and all necessary paper work for the jobsUtilizes the 5-S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain) to maintain an orderly, clean and safe work area.
