Position Summary The Assistant Line Lead supports the daily operations of the production floor by helping coordinate workflow, directing production laborers, and ensuring jobs are prepared before reaching the production line. This individual leads by example, works alongside the production team, and helps maintain an efficient, organized, and safe work environment. The Assistant Line Lead plays a key role in minimizing downtime by proactively staging materials, verifying job requirements, communicating priorities, and assisting with employee training and development. This position serves as the primary support to the Line Lead and helps ensure production schedules are met while maintaining Preferred Powder Coating's quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Assist in coordinating daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer deadlines. Direct and support production laborers by assigning work, answering questions, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Proactively prepare upcoming jobs by reviewing travelers, staging racks, hardware, masking materials, packaging and ensuring all required materials are available before work reaches the production line. Help identify production bottlenecks and communicate issues to the Line Lead or Operations Manager before they impact production. Read and interpret travelers, work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications. Verify that jobs are properly identified, counted, labeled, and routed throughout the production process. Assist with preparing parts for coating, including sanding, masking, hanging, washing, drying, and racking as needed. Ensure parts are packaged correctly and protected for shipment following customer requirements. Monitor production quality throughout the process and immediately address concerns or escalate issues when necessary. Help maintain inventory of production supplies, masking materials, racks, and other operational needs. Support startup and shutdown procedures for production lines as directed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while promoting good housekeeping practices throughout the department. Train new employees on production procedures, quality expectations, and safety practices. Provide day-to-day coaching and constructive feedback to employees while promoting teamwork and accountability. Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and operational updates between management and production employees. Assist wherever needed throughout production to help meet daily goals and customer commitments. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous manufacturing or production experience required. Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred. Powder coating or industrial finishing experience preferred. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret production travelers, work instructions, and blueprints. Basic computer skills with the ability to learn JobBoss and Work Station Driver. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, and work in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work in varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment. Pay:

$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
