POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing & Tool specialist is responsible for ensuring all tools/molds are prepped for production as scheduled. They will make repairs or recommend tools for outside service/repair. The Specialist will perform daily inspections of tools/molds to determine if any rework is needed. The Specialist will train and work with secondary operators to assure production efficiency. They will work with process engineering on continuous improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure tools/molds are pulled, prepped and in good condition ready for production Set up of tools on the machine (at machine, mold released, breather tube, books, inserts) Assure efficient tool changeovers Tool Inspection when it comes off the machine Work with Engineering and maintenance, when necessary, in repairing tools/molds Perform daily tool/mold inspections to assure they are in good/working condition Inspect scrap parts daily and fix if possible Sampling of new projects and R&D, molding, finishing, fixtures, and work instructions Assist in fixture design and request desired tool and fixture changes Train and mentor, all operators and finishers to ensure assembly/finishing rates are achieved Evaluate and work with Process Engineering and Supervisors on Continuous Improvement of the molding and secondary processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives Review work instructions to ensure appropriate updates are marked up Provide support to production based upon experience and knowledge Maintain safety requirements, support company safety policies Follow, support, and meet all company core values Promote a positive and productive working environment Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experienced with rotational molding and assembly/Secondary processes and equipment. Good people skills Experienced in the production part processes and set ups. Familiar with Blueprint reading Good organizational skills, self-motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize. Additional skills as deemed necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Technical school degree, or equivalent experience
