Construction Producer Job Description This role focuses on assembling cut lumber into floor and roof trusses according to precise specifications in an indoor, production-style construction environment. You will work with hand and power tools, operate presses and nail guns, and help move, stack, band, and mark finished products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Assemble cut material into floor and roof trusses according to detailed work orders. Read and interpret work orders and production schedules. Pull plates and prepare materials needed for truss assembly. Set up and operate presses, and nail guns. Connect plates using a hammer and/or press to ensure secure and accurate assembly. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing or construction experience. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools. Ability to use a tape measure accurately. Consistent ability to lift 50+ pounds, verified through references. Reliability and readiness to follow safety protocols and wear required PPE. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in truss building or lumber-related production environments. (not required, but beneficial) Strong work ethic and ability to meet production targets in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn new equipment and processes related to truss assembly. Personal protective equipment is required at all times; steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves must be worn, and face masks are available when needed. The facility operates on two primary shifts: first shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and second shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Orientation for both shifts takes place at 7:30 AM on the first day. Dress appropriately for an industrial setting, including durable clothing suitable for working with tools, machinery, and lumber. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Crescent, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
