Job Summary The Assistant Production Specialist role is responsible for This position is responsible for supporting efficient plant operations while providing professional and courteous service to customers, drivers, and visitors. This is a 3rd shift role a working schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This position will have a $1.00 shift differential. Facility Expectation Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards. Ensure product quality expectations are met. Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required. Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule. Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues. Required to work overtime as specified by management. Work Duties Maintain a positive attitude and cooperative posture in all business relationships To greet customers as they arrive for loading. Be prompt and courteous. Practice exceptional, "beyond the call of duty" customer care practices. Understand and practice the goals of superior quality in manufacturing and adhere to all Quality Assurance Policies. Operate, adjust and repair all machinery and equipment to perform micro ingredient/premix operations while meeting established performance standards. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) inventory maintenance and control, filling micro bins, rework and grinding operations. Serve as a back up to the Production Specialist positions and fill in as necessary. Perform housekeeping duties continuously in assigned work area. Coordinate activities with other production specialists and supervisors to achieve quality specifications while maximizing production efficiency and customer service requirements. Understand and observe all company safety and work rules to ensure the safety of all employees. Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses or accidents to management. Use proper respiratory protective equipment and procedures while weighing and/or dumping premix ingredients, hand add ingredients and medicated additives. Keep all equipment in safe operating condition and operate in compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulatory guidelines. These include but are not limited to the following programs: Hazardous Communication Lockout,Tagout Hearing Conservation Emergency Plans Hazardous/Spill Response D.O.T. (If applicable) Manlift Forklift Fire Prevention Respiratory Grain Handling Std. Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely manner Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership Minimum Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent Good customer service must be exhibited at all times. Must be able to properly distinguish, identify and record products and information concerning products and procedures. Must make sound decisions concerning feed sequencing, production efficiencies and job-related activities. Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs Must be able to manipulate machine controls, set ups, and equipment operation. Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when required Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment Self-motivated with a solid work ethic Good attitude and works well in team atmosphere Handles other duties as required Maintain excellent attendance Good interpersonal skills required This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team that values your expertise and invests in your growth.
