Job Description
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Thursday Days:
5:45 am - 4:30 pmCompany Information:
TARSCO Bolted Tank Inc. manufactures and constructs customized, above-ground bolted storage tank systems worldwide.Job Summary:
Sand blasting and painting of structural steel fabricated parts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read production sheets and similar documentation to stage product for painting.
- Prepare paint for use in the automated booth and manual spray guns.
- Use solvents to clean machines and work area. Ensure housekeeping of assigned work area is in compliance.
- Apply paint to various sized parts, miscellaneous components and equipment.
- Quality control of all finished parts from paint department.
- Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
- Select paint according to company requirements, and match colors of paint following specified color charts.
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, or, sandblasters.
- Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.
- Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and finish coatings.
- Operate forklift
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Minimum Experience:
1 year experience in using various forms of painting equipmentJob Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as needed to include additional hours per day or additional days per work week
- Ability to work in a not climate controlled environment
- Must comply with Personal Protective Equipment guidelines to include but not limited to hardhat, steel toed shoes, uniform, gloves, safety glasses, masks (as required), etc.
- Paint department associates are required to wear paint suit and half face mask while coating (air purifying mask)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds individually, team lifting/mechanical techniques for any work processes that exceed 51 pounds
- Must be able to work in a noisy work environment (hearing protection available)
- Must be able to work in a dusty work environment (masks available)\ Education and/or
