Welding Shop Assistant :
Full-Time, Hourly pay. Monday through
Friday :
Dependent on experience : Health insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401k with a company match, company-paid Group Life Insurance, company-paid ADD. JL Components, a leading supplier of industrial equipment for pneumatic conveying system and other material conveying processes, is looking to hire a Shop Assistant to work full-time. The Shop Assistant will help engage in multiple activities to support production, including but not limited to, running a band saw, deburring of parts, plasma cutting parts, light assembly, cleaning.
Essential Functions:
  • Reading job work orders, prints and procedures to perform tasks.
  • Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirement.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and work in areas outside of direct responsibility when needed.
  • Ability to learn/use bandsaw, brake, roll, and shear in a safe manner.
  • Must be dependable, accurate, customer oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized and safe.
  • Skill in operating various heavy equipment including forklift and crane preferred.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Applicant must have a reliable means of transportation to and from the facility. Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of basic hand tools and power tools such as grinders, drills and other powered equipment such as hoists and cranes. The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner and possessing strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to use tape measure, specifically measurements withing 1/16"
  • Ability to work well and communicate with others.
Basic understanding of an assembly production environment. Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, bend & kneel.
