Temp-to-Hire GO Personnel is seeking an experienced Metal Shear Operator to join a leading steel warehouse team in Liberty, MO. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, safety, and reliable production work. About the Job As a Metal Shear Operator, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal shear equipment to produce accurate, high‑quality cuts. You'll work with sheet metal, structural components, and various steel products while supporting daily production goals. Key Responsibilities Set up shear machines by adjusting blade clearance, rake angles, back gauges, and guides based on work orders. Feed metal sheets or structural components into the shear manually or with cranes/hoists. Perform accurate cuts according to customer specifications. Inspect finished pieces using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools. Complete daily equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor troubleshooting. Pull products based on daily orders and maintain organized inventory rotation. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, dolly loaders, and pallet wrappers. Report mechanical or safety issues promptly. Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and good manufacturing practices. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-2 years of experience operating a metal shear or similar fabrication/manufacturing equipment. Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Proficiency with standard measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures). Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods in an industrial environment. High school diploma or GED preferred. Reliable transportation and ability to pass required screenings.
