Job Description
A growing steel manufacturing organization is seeking a Metallurgy Production Specialist to support product quality, process optimization, and customer satisfaction across mill operations. This role is ideal for a technically strong metallurgist who thrives in a hands‑on production environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and cross‑functional collaboration. The Metallurgy Production Specialist will be responsible for: Collaborate with product development, mill operations, and technical services to improve product robustness and reduce conversion costs Support customer claims, corrective actions, and technical issue resolution in partnership with sales and technical teams Execute and support product trials in coordination with metallurgists, engineers, and operations leadership Drive root cause analysis of internal and external quality issues and implement improvement actions Review customer requirements and product capabilities for assigned operational areas Assist with daily product disposition and line parameter settings to ensure customer specifications are met Maintain quality systems, documentation, and continuous improvement records Support customer visits, mill tours, and technical exchanges The Metallurgy Production Specialist should have the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Multiple years of experience in steel production and/or steel applications Experience with data analysis, SPC, and process control tools Knowledge of ISO, IATF, API, or related quality standards Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
