About the
Role:
The Utility Helper plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing process within the non-durable goods sector by ensuring that machinery operates efficiently and safely. This position involves assisting machine operators with setup, monitoring, and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. The Utility Helper will be responsible for identifying and reporting any mechanical issues or irregularities to prevent defects and ensure product quality. Collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain a productive and hazard-free work environment. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to meeting production targets and maintaining the high standards expected in the manufacturing facility located in Asheville, NC.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine operation procedures. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment following safety protocols. Effective communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with non-durable goods manufacturing processes. Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to work overtime if needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist machine operators in setting up and adjusting machinery for production runs. Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities and report them promptly. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal condition. Load raw materials and remove finished products from machines as required. Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to support continuous production and meet daily output goals. Document production activities and machine performance as directed by supervisors.
