Monday through Thursday 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM Mandatory overtime as required Candidates must be able to work additional hours when production needs require it. This may include extended 12 hour shifts, Fridays, Saturdays, or other additional overtime. Overtime is mandatory.
Job Description:
A Confidential Company in Asheboro, NC is seeking a dependable Welder Helper to join its 2nd shift manufacturing team. This position is designed for candidates who already have relevant welding exposure, including newer welders and recent welding school graduates who are looking for an opportunity to build their career in a professional manufacturing environment. The Welder Helper will support skilled trades and production employees with welding related work, fabrication support, material handling, measuring, layout, and other manufacturing responsibilities. This is a flexible shop support position. Candidates should understand that they may not perform welding duties every day. Depending on production needs, employees may be assigned throughout different areas of the plant and may assist with painting, material handling, fabrication preparation, assembly, cleanup, and other production duties. The company manufactures custom modular mechanical solutions and is looking for employees who take pride in their work, value safety, and are interested in building a long term career.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist welders and production personnel with fabrication and welding related tasks Support layout, measuring, preparation, and general fabrication work Accurately read and use a tape measure Assist with door installation and panel work when required Handle materials safely and efficiently Operate common hand and power tools Use circular saws, drills, reciprocating saws, and other production tools as required Assist with material movement and shop organization Perform painting and other production support duties when assigned Follow blueprints and production drawings when applicable Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards Work effectively as part of a production team Move between departments or responsibilities based on production needs Work all required overtime, including extended shifts and additional days when scheduled
Requirements:
Relevant welding experience or recent welding training is required Recent welding school graduates are encouraged to apply Must have basic welding knowledge and understand fundamental welding practices Must be comfortable working as a Welder Helper and assisting experienced production personnel Must be willing to perform duties outside of welding when production needs require it Must be comfortable being utilized throughout different areas of the manufacturing plant Must be able to accurately read a tape measure Experience using common hand and power tools is required Blueprint reading experience is preferred Construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or related hands on experience is preferred Must be dependable and able to maintain strong attendance Must be able to work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM Must be available for mandatory overtime, including extended shifts, Fridays, and Saturdays when required Must be comfortable with the $20.00 per hour starting pay rate Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable commuting to Asheboro, NC Must be authorized to work in the United States Must be able to meet the client's background screening requirements Must be able to pass a drug screen, including marijuana Only candidates with relevant welding experience or legitimate recent welding training will be considered. This is not a training opportunity for candidates with no welding background.

The ideal candidate is someone who wants to gain additional hands on welding and fabrication experience while being willing to help wherever needed throughout the plant.
