Job Description:
A Confidential Company in Asheboro, NC is seeking a dependable and motivated Welder Helper to join its 1st shift production team. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity with an established and growing manufacturer specializing in custom modular mechanical solutions. The company is looking for individuals who take pride in their work and want an opportunity to build a long term career in manufacturing, welding, and fabrication. This position is an excellent opportunity for a new welder, recent welding school graduate, or candidate with legitimate hands on welding and fabrication fundamentals who is looking to gain additional professional experience. As a Welder Helper, you will work alongside the production and fabrication team and assist with material handling, measuring, layout, preparation, fabrication support, door installation, and panel work. This is a hands on position. You will be expected to work throughout the production area, use common power tools, accurately measure materials, assist skilled employees, and help keep production moving safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist welders and fabrication employees with daily production activities Accurately read and use a tape measure Assist with layout, measuring, and general preparation work Support welding and fabrication operations Assist with door installation and panel work Safely handle and move materials throughout the production area Operate common power tools, including circular saws, drills, and reciprocating saws Read and understand basic blueprints when required Follow instructions and established production procedures Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Follow all company safety rules, guidelines, and procedures Work effectively as part of a fast paced production team Assist throughout the shop with other production and fabrication duties as assigned
Requirements:
Recent welding training, welding school experience, or relevant hands on welding experience is strongly preferred Recent welding school graduates and newer welders with legitimate welding fundamentals are encouraged to apply Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure Must have experience using common hand and power tools Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing, welding, and fabrication environment Previous construction or other relevant hands on trades experience is preferred Blueprint reading experience is preferred Welding experience is a plus Must be dependable and maintain consistent attendance Must be safety conscious and able to follow established shop procedures Must be able to work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Must be available for mandatory overtime on Fridays and weekends as needed Must be authorized to work in the United States Must be able to meet the client's strict background check requirements Must be able to pass a drug screen, including marijuana ONLY candidates with relevant welding training, welding education, welding experience, fabrication experience, construction experience, or closely related hands on experience will be considered. This is NOT a training opportunity for candidates with no relevant skills, education, or hands on experience. Candidates must already possess basic welding, fabrication, construction, or related hands on fundamentals.
