Inventory Associate - Production QC The Hemp Collect | Canton, NC | $22-$24/hr DOE | Full-time, On-site We manufacture federally compliant hemp-derived cannabinoid products — vapes, tinctures, gummies, softgels, flower, and beverages — out of our Canton, NC facility, and ship them nationwide under Modern Herb Co., Black Sheep, Happy Human, and Hi-Lites. We're founder-led and self-owned. No VCs, no private equity, no outside pressure. We're hiring an Inventory Associate focused on Production QC-Out — the person who verifies that what comes off the production floor matches what our system says came off the production floor, every single time, before it moves to finished goods. This is not a general warehouse job. This is a control point. If you're the kind of person who cannot walk past a count that doesn't tie out, keep reading. What You'll Do Production QC-Out Verification (core of the role) Verify completed production output against the manufacturing order in our MRP system — SKU, quantity, batch/lot, and expiration. Physically count and reconcile finished units at the production-to-inventory handoff. Reconcile component consumption and scrap against the bill of materials. Inspect labeling and packaging accuracy at handoff: correct label, correct batch/lot, correct QR/COA linkage, correct case counts. Stop and flag. When physical doesn't match system, you stop the transaction and escalate — you do not "fix it later," write it on a sticky note, or push it through to keep the line moving. This is the single most important behavior in this role. System & Transaction Discipline Record every transaction live in our MRP as it happens. No batching at the end of the day, no workarounds. Move product into the correct system location — kitting, staging, quarantine, or finished goods. Open and track quarantine holds in Asana when product is placed on hold; keep hold status current until released. Support cycle counts and periodic full counts; research and document variance root cause, not just the number. Team & Documentation Follow written SOPs exactly, and flag when an SOP no longer matches reality so it can be corrected. Maintain clean, accurate logs in Google Sheets and support inventory reporting. Communicate clearly and quickly with Production, Fulfillment, Compliance, and the rest of the Inventory team over Slack and email — this facility runs on fast, accurate handoffs. Cross-train and back up other inventory functions (receiving, kitting/components, finished goods) as volume requires. What We Require 1+ year working in an MRP or ERP system in a manufacturing, production, or 3PL environment. Katana, NetSuite, Fishbowl, Cin7, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Infor, DEAR, Acumatica, or similar. You need to have actually transacted in a system — not just scanned into someone else's. Consistent, on-time attendance. Our production and shipping schedules are time-dependent. When you're not here, someone else absorbs your work. Real detail orientation. You catch the off-by-one. You notice when the lot code changed mid-run.

Comfort with technology:

Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP or equivalent), Gmail, Slack, and the ability to learn a new system quickly without hand-holding. Ability to hold several threads at once — a count in progress, a hold that needs documenting, and a production run about to close — without dropping any of them. Ability to learn and follow SOPs quickly and precisely. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 21+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Comfortable working in a facility that manufactures hemp-derived cannabinoid products. Nice to Have Direct Katana MRP experience. Experience in a GMP, food, beverage, supplement, pharma, or cannabis manufacturing environment. Cycle counting or inventory audit experience. Forklift certification (we'll train and certify the right person). Experience with lot/batch traceability or COA management. What "Great" Looks Like Here We hire, train, and build champions.
