Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch Position Overview Edgecombe Furniture is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Pattern Designer / Marker Maker to join our fast-paced product development and manufacturing team. This person will be responsible for developing accurate furniture cover patterns using Lectra CAD software , including Modaris/Pattern Design, Marker Making, and Material Manager . The patterns will be used to create fabric markers for cutting and sewing upholstered furniture covers for production. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who enjoys building, creating, solving problems, and seeing a project through to completion . This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail are critical. There is significant opportunity for growth for someone who demonstrates initiative, learns quickly, takes ownership, and wants to become an expert in furniture pattern development and CAD. Key Responsibilities Develop and modify furniture cover patterns using Lectra CAD software . Become highly proficient in Pattern Design/Modaris, Marker Making, and Material Manager . Create accurate sewn cover components for upholstered furniture products. Develop efficient markers to maximize fabric utilization and minimize material waste. Ensure all components of a cover are properly developed, including: White pad sizes Black bottoms Seat decks Ticking Other required cover components Ensure correct seam allowances, notch locations, grain lines, and pattern dimensions . Work closely with Product Development, Sewing, Cutting, and Production teams to identify and resolve pattern-related issues. Monitor production and cover issues and make pattern corrections as needed. Review patterns for accuracy and completeness before releasing them for production. Assist with the development of new products and revisions to existing products. Help improve the speed and efficiency of new product development. Identify opportunities to improve pattern construction, marker efficiency, and material utilization. Maintain organized and accurate pattern files and product information. Take ownership of assigned projects and follow them through to completion. Work with urgency to meet production and product development deadlines. Increase the speed and number of new products developed. Improve the accuracy and consistency of cut parts. Reduce fabric consumption and material waste through efficient marker making. Ensure complete and accurate development of all cover components. Reduce production issues caused by pattern inaccuracies. Improve the overall efficiency of the product development process. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has training or experience in CAD software , preferably Lectra or a similar CAD system. Has knowledge or experience with sewing and sewn products . Has an interest in learning pattern design and marker making . Enjoys building, making, creating, and figuring out how things work. Is a go-getter who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do. Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment . Has a strong sense of urgency and takes deadlines seriously.
