We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Brake Press Operator to join a manufacturing team in Lumberton, NC. The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for operating press brake equipment to bend, form, and shape metal components according to production specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate brake press equipment to bend and form sheet metal components. Read and follow work orders, blueprints, drawings, and basic production specifications. Measure completed parts using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools. Load and position metal materials into the brake press safely and accurately. Adjust machine settings and tooling as necessary to achieve proper bends and dimensions. Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and defects. Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor operating issues. Maintain consistent production while meeting quality and efficiency expectations. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Communicate equipment or quality concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel. Assist with other manufacturing and production duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing, machine operating, metal fabrication, or brake press experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Basic knowledge of blueprints or manufacturing drawings preferred. Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools. Comfortable working with metal materials and industrial machinery. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical manufacturing work. Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with experience as a Brake Press Operator, Press Operator, Machine Operator, Metal Fabricator, Sheet Metal Worker, or Production Operator are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout the shift. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
