Production Lead Ratigan-Schottler Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Lead to help lead daily operations within our manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership position with primary responsibility for overseeing workflow and employees within our finish department. The Production Lead will work alongside the production team to coordinate daily priorities, maintain quality standards, keep work moving efficiently, and ensure production goals and deadlines are met. Our finish department plays an important role in the final appearance and quality of our custom furniture. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, an appreciation for quality craftsmanship, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining efficient production processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support employees within the finish department on a day-to-day basis. Coordinate daily workflow and prioritize work to support production schedules and deadlines. Work alongside team members as needed to keep production moving and address challenges. Monitor the quality and consistency of finished products to ensure they meet company standards. Help ensure proper finishing procedures, processes, and quality expectations are consistently followed. Identify production bottlenecks, quality concerns, and inefficiencies and work with management to develop practical solutions. Provide training, guidance, and day-to-day support to employees within the department. Help team members develop the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs successfully. Hold employees accountable for quality, productivity, safety, attendance, and workplace expectations. Communicate production progress, scheduling concerns, material needs, and other issues to management. Coordinate with other departments to ensure work flows smoothly into and out of the finish department. Troubleshoot production, material, equipment, and quality issues and escalate concerns when necessary. Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment. Monitor department priorities to help ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a productive work environment. Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, quality, and workflow.
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing, woodworking, furniture, finishing, painting, staining, coatings, or related experience is preferred. Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to effectively lead, motivate, train, and provide direction to others. Comfortable providing feedback and addressing performance or quality concerns. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to organize priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Dependable, responsible, and willing to take ownership of department performance and results. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
