Job Description

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for controlling, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and processes in a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations while adhering to environmental, health, safety, and quality standards. Operators play a key role in maintaining production schedules, troubleshooting process deviations, and supporting continuous improvement in plant operations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor chemical production equipment such as reactor tanks, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, and filtration systems. Adjust process variables (temperature, pressure, flow rates, levels) to maintain optimal conditions and product specifications. Perform regular inspections of plant systems to identify and resolve issues or escalate to maintenance/engineering teams. Start up, shut down, and clean process equipment in accordance with SOPs and safety protocols. Accurately record operating data, process changes, and shift reports. Collect in-process samples and collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure product compliance. Handle and transfer raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using proper procedures. Respond to alarms, upsets, and emergency situations following plant safety and emergency response protocols. Support preventive maintenance activities and assist with equipment troubleshooting. Requirements:
Some exposure or experience working with chemicals is a plus, but can be trained for the right person. Knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and safety standards (OSHA, PSM, environmental compliance). Ability to read and interpret SOPs, batch sheets, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Mechanical aptitude with exposure to vacuum pumps, valves, control panels, and instrumentation. Advanced communication skills and ability to work effectively on a shift team. Willingness to work 4 day work week (10-12 hrs./day). High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree and/or technical certifications preferred. 1-2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility/production environment/plant operations is highly preferred. Benefits:
Base salary starts at $20.00/hr + bonus based on company and personal performance.
