2. Position Overview Custom Production - Cutter Operator Department / Group 6.4 Custom Production Reports To Custom Production - Lead Operator Position Type Full-time; overtime or shift flexibility may be required based on business needs Location Brookaire operating location(s), as assigned 3. Role Purpose The Custom Production - Cutter Operator cuts custom filter materials accurately to the measurements required by customer orders so that assemblers can build clean, correct, high-quality custom filters. The role supports custom production flow by reading required measurements, cutting filters or related materials, coordinating with production teammates, and keeping the cutting area safe and organized. 4. Role Authority and Boundaries This role may cut assigned materials according to work instructions, labels, customer measurements, training, and safety requirements. The role may stop or question work when measurements, materials, quality, or safety conditions appear incorrect and must escalate concerns to the Custom Production Lead Operator, Distribution Production Fulfillment Team Lead, or other authorized supervisor. The role must not operate cutting equipment without training or bypass required machine guards/PPE. 5. Key Responsibilities
  • Read work requirements, labels, or instructions and confirm the required filter measurements before cutting.
  • Cut filters, caps, cardboard, or related custom materials accurately and efficiently according to customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with assemblers, packing, QC, and production leads to make sure work is completed in the right order and delivered to the correct next step.
  • Inspect measurements and cut quality before moving material forward.
  • Communicate concerns about incorrect measurements, damaged material, unclear instructions, or production delays.
  • Keep the cutting machine and cutting area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Use required PPE and safe machine practices, including shutting down equipment when not in use or when directed.
  • Assist with custom production work completion when business needs require and when trained to do so. 6. Recurring Tasks and Meetings
  • Review daily custom production work and required customer measurements.
  • Measure materials and filters before cutting.
  • Operate cutting equipment only within training and safety limits.
  • Deliver cut materials to assemblers, QC, or packing as required.
  • Coordinate with team members to complete the day's custom work.
  • Clean and organize the cutting area and shut down equipment when work is complete or when not in use. 7. Key Deliverables
  • Correctly measured and cut custom filter materials.
  • Materials supplied to custom assembly or packing at the required time.
  • Accurate communication of measurement, material, or quality concerns.
  • Clean and safe cutting area.

How Success Is Measured
  • Cut materials match required customer measurements.
  • Custom production work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Assemblers have the correctly prepared materials needed to finish orders.
  • Measurement or material concerns are caught before poor product moves forward.
  • The cutting area remains clean and safe.
  • PPE and machine safety rules are followed consistently. 10. Required Skills and Experience
  • Ability to read measurements; basic math; attention to detail; hand-eye coordination; ability to work with cutting equipment; communication; teamwork; ability to work at pace; and ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. 11. Tools, Software, and Equipment
  • Cutting machine/saw, tape measure, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant tools or knives, labels/work instructions, and other assigned custom production tools. 12. Safety Requirements
  • Use gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and any other PPE required for cutting work.
  • Use caution around cutting machines, blades, knives, and sharp filter edges.
  • Turn off cutting equipment when not working or when directed to prevent accidents.
  • Keep hands, loose clothing, and materials clear of cutting paths and moving parts.
  • Keep the area clean to reduce trip, slip, and cut hazards.
  • Report equipment problems, damaged guards, unsafe material, or injury risks immediately.
Pay:
From $19.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
