Children's Apparel Location:
Lakewood, NJ Employment Type:
Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Product Developer to join our growing children's apparel company. This role will support the production team throughout the product development and manufacturing process, helping ensure styles move smoothly from approved samples through bulk production and delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, follows up consistently, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced apparel environment. Responsibilities Responsible for day-to-day production activities for children's apparel collections Communicate with factories and vendors regarding production status, samples, approvals, and timelines Track production calendars, deadlines, sample approvals, and delivery dates Follow up with factories to ensure production stays on schedule Review and maintain production documents, including tech packs, purchase orders, measurements, and specifications Assist with reviewing samples and identifying discrepancies in measurements, construction, trims, fabrics, colors, and workmanship Coordinate sample submissions and approvals between the design and production teams Maintain accurate production records and update tracking sheets Help coordinate lab dips, fabric/trims approvals, fit samples, size sets, and pre-production samples Communicate production updates and flag delays or issues to the appropriate team members Assist with quality control and ensure factory production follows approved specifications Organize and maintain samples and production references Support the team with additional production and administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Previous experience in apparel production, product development, merchandising, or a related field Experience with children's apparel is a strong plus Strong organizational and follow-up skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable communicating with overseas factories and vendors Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets Ability to read and understand tech packs and garment specifications Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes is a plus Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a team Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented attitude The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who takes ownership, stays on top of details, and doesn't let things fall through the cracks . You should enjoy working in a fast-paced apparel environment and be someone who naturally follows up, keeps things organized, and makes sure deadlines are met. Experience with children's clothing, baby apparel, or layette is highly preferred.
