Production Reports to: Production Supervisor Overview The Production Associate - SMT supports the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production line by assisting SMT Operators with feeder setup/teardown, line preparation, and equipment handling. This role ensures smooth production flow, adherence to quality standards, and timely execution of assembly tasks in a fast-paced EMS environment. Key Responsibilities Assist SMT Operators with feeder setup, teardown, and line changeovers per work orders and assembly requirements. Review production schedule dashboard by date and line; confirm availability of Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI). Verify BOM revisions against MPI assembly revisions prior to production runs. Load and unload assemblies into reflow ovens and AXI (5DX) inspection equipment. Inspect work against predefined standards and escalate issues or discrepancies to supervisors. Execute written and verbal instructions from the Production Supervisor. Follow work instructions, visual aids, and documentation to complete tasks accurately. Identify, communicate, and escalate production or quality issues in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with ESD handling procedures and safety requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required; diploma preferred). 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or electronics production environment preferred. Familiarity with SMT processes and ESD practices a plus. Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and visual aids. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills in a production setting.
