Command Robbinsville is state-of-the-art book manufacturing facility, ideal for producing educational books, computer books, catalogs, annual reports, and directories. Key Responsibilities 1. Matti Inkjet Press Operation Safely and efficiently operate Matti Inkjet book edge printing equipment . Perform press setup and job make-ready according to production tickets, SOPs, and work instructions. Set up and operate pre-press and post-press equipment as required. Monitor ink levels and ensure the press is properly prepared for production. Start, monitor, and complete production jobs while meeting established production schedules. Verify job specifications and production information before beginning each job. 2. Quality Control Perform quality inspections throughout each production run. Monitor print density, color consistency, registration, page sequence, image quality, and barcode readability when applicable. Identify and address quality issues promptly to prevent defective product. Stop production when product quality does not meet company standards. Remove and properly handle defective product according to company procedures. 3. Press Adjustments & Troubleshooting Make routine press adjustments to maintain consistent print quality and production performance. Respond to machine alarms and production issues in a timely manner. Troubleshoot common issues such as web breaks, registration problems, color variation, printhead defects, and paper-feeding issues. Communicate and escalate mechanical or electrical problems to Maintenance or Production Management. 4. Equipment Care & Maintenance Perform daily operator maintenance and routine equipment checks. Clean the press and surrounding equipment according to established procedures. Complete assigned lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. 5. Production Documentation Accurately record production quantities, waste, downtime, roll changes, maintenance activities, and quality issues. Complete all required production paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time. Communicate production issues or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor. 6. Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments. Work closely with Production Planning, Prepress, Bindery, Shipping, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production flow. Participate in shift turnover meetings and provide accurate information regarding job status, equipment conditions, and outstanding issues. 7. Safety Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or workplace hazards immediately. Follow proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required. Operate all equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.Qualifications:
2+ years of experience operating digital or offset printing equipment ; HP experience strongly preferred. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and equipment adjustments. Ability to read and follow SOPs, production tickets, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Basic computer skills and ability to enter production information into electronic systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in book manufacturing or commercial printing Knowledge of digital printing processes, color management, and paper handling. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices. Experience with HP Inkjet or similar high-speed digital printing equipment.Physical & Work Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds . Ability to work around industrial machinery, moving equipment, and manufacturing noise. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as production needs require. Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced production environment.
