Buffalo, NY Salary:
$20+/hr BOE Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and hardworking Drain Manufacturing Assistant to support the production of roofing and drainage-industry components in North Buffalo, NY. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity!
Job Overview:
Assist with material preparation, fabrication, assembly, finishing, packaging, and general shop operations.
Shift:
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (two 15-min breaks, one 30-min lunch)
Payrate:
Starting at $20+ based on experience
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with the manufacturing of drains, drainage components, and related metal products. Read and follow work orders, job travelers, drawings, and verbal or written instructions. Prepare raw materials for production, including measuring, marking, cutting, deburring, and organizing parts. Assist machine operators, fabricators, welders, and other production personnel as needed. Perform basic assembly, grinding, sanding, deburring, drilling, and finishing operations. Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment safely after proper training. Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to confirm they meet job requirements. Identify damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming material and notify a supervisor. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Properly handle, label, move, and store materials and finished products. Package completed parts for shipment or transfer to the next production operation. Complete required production, inspection, and material documentation accurately. Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Perform other duties related to manufacturing and shop operations as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or mechanical experience is preferred. Ability to use a tape measure and basic hand tools. Ability to read or learn to read basic drawings, measurements, and production instructions. Basic understanding of fractions, decimals, and dimensions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and work independently after training. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. Basic computer skills are helpful.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials and finished products. Ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive movements. Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and work in various shop positions. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal materials, dust, and moving equipment. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves, and protective footwear.
Work Environment:
This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing and fabrication shop. Employees may work near CNC equipment, saws, grinders, welding operations, forklifts, and other industrial machinery. Safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and required personal protective equipment must be followed at all times.
