Job Description
Graphic Image/GiGi New York , a high-end leather handbag and accessories manufacturer seeks an energetic administrative assistant to the production and product development team. Looking for motivated candidates interested in gaining practical experience in manufacturing in the fashion industry. This position can provide an education like none other in the United States. Read on… The majority of our products are produced under our own roof including all design and sample work. While most positions of this nature may get to visit a factory a couple times a year, we are producing handbags and accessories in our factory five days a week. The position will gain first-hand experience in costing, quality control, managing specifications, BOMs, receiving daily production. Our made in America facility may be the largest producer of luxury leather products in the US. This position is based in Melville, NY, on Long Island. Job Responsibilities Create, proof and edit Bill of materials to ensure they are correct and up-to-date. Enter and Receive orders for production Production follow up weekly
- Help conduct productivity studies on the manufacturing floor (i.e. time, complexity, quantity of pieces made, etc.) including but not limited to the recording, analyzing and reporting results.
- Assist in production costing.
- Own the maintenance, storage and cataloging of all sample materials.
- Keep assortment charts up to date and follow the status of samples requests.
- Support the preparation of design specification sheets and update as necessary.
- Keep design room organized: all materials, sample closet, hardware, and swatches.
- Ensure that the floor managers have correct paperwork at all times and update as needed.
- Retrieve sample materials, hardware etc. needed for the sample makers or production floor.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners including but not limited to factory employees, sales, web, and overseas production.
- Provide practical support to the Product Development &Design Director and Senior Manager.
