Production Support Specialist-12 hour midnights
Position Summary:
The Production Support Specialist ensures smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted production operations on the shop floor. This hands-on role focuses on monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, directing material flow, and supporting operators to maximize uptime and productivity. This is a production floor role reporting directly to the Team Lead, with close collaboration across operations, maintenance, IT, Finance, and quality teams. A key responsibility is training production operators and material movers on proper ERP system use, including reporting against production orders, correctly identifying and tagging materials, and performing accurate material transactions to ensure system integrity and traceability. Key Responsibilities
  • Train production operators on proper ERP system use, including creating production orders, tagging materials, and performing accurate transactions.
  • Direct material movers' daily activities to ensure production lines are fully supplied and prevent material shortages.
  • Monitor production lines, equipment, and processes to maintain uptime, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, maintenance, and engineering to minimize downtime and improve processes.
  • Document machine utilization, downtime events, and corrective actions accurately.
  • Execute SOPs and safety checks consistently.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Support production changeovers, equipment setups, and performance validations.
  • Provide real-time updates to Team Leads on equipment status, system health, and production progress.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in production, operations, or manufacturing support.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods (standing, bending, moderate lifting).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Basic mechanical or technical aptitude to understand machinery and process flow.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement practices.
Preferred:
  • Experience in manufacturing systems, machine operation, or quality assurance.
  • Experience with data collection or production tracking systems (MES, ERP, or similar).
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
Working Conditions:
This role is fully production floor-based, interacting with equipment, materials, and operators daily. PPE and safety compliance are mandatory. Shift work, overtime, and weekend hours may be required. Reports directly to the Team Lead and collaborates closely with production, maintenance, Finance, IT and quality teams.
