Utility Operator Job Description The Utility Operator supports manufacturing and warehouse operations by safely operating forklifts, handling materials, performing small-part assembly, and preparing customer orders for shipment. This role works on 1st shift (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) in a clean, smaller shop environment and plays a key part in meeting daily production and shipping goals while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Operate forklifts safely to move raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory throughout the facility. Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks in a timely and efficient manner. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to specifications. Perform basic small-part assembly following work instructions and quality standards. Conduct quality inspections and verify completed parts meet required specifications. Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Maintain accurate inventory records and follow proper material movement practices. Assist with general warehouse, production, and housekeeping duties as needed. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Report quality concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards promptly to supervision. Support production teams to help meet daily output and shipping goals. Essential Skills At least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery. Experience operating forklifts or tow motors in a production or warehouse setting. Proficiency in material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving inventory. Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Ability to perform assembly and work on an assembly line following instructions. Basic quality check skills to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Experience with picking, packing, and packaging customer orders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in manufacturing, assembly, and general labor. Experience with inventory practices and product quality verification. Familiarity with blueprints or work instructions. Experience in material handling, including unloading trucks and organizing stock. Comfort working in a production and warehouse environment. Attention to detail when performing quality checks and packaging. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and follow direction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medina, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
