General Production Worker Job Description This role operates and supports die cast machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will load and unload machines, move metal parts throughout the production area, and perform quality checks to ensure parts meet precise specifications. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and follow structured processes during an initial training period. Responsibilities Load and unload die cast machines safely and efficiently. Perform routine quality checks on parts to ensure they meet required specifications and standards. Move metal parts and materials throughout the cell and plant using appropriate equipment and methods. Set up die cast machines according to production requirements and assist with changeovers. Support basic troubleshooting activities and assist with repairs under guidance from maintenance or technical staff. Monitor machine performance and promptly report issues, irregularities, or defects. Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the production cell. Collaborate with team members in Assembly, Inspection, and other departments to support production flow. Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation accurately and on time. Participate in training (up to 4 weeks) to learn machine operation, quality requirements, and safety practices. Contribute ideas for quality improvement and process efficiency through established suggestion programs. Support mandatory overtime requirements, including weekend work, to meet production schedules. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of production experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with industrial systems and machinery. Prior manufacturing work history with hands-on experience in production operations. Experience performing quality inspection or quality control tasks on manufactured parts. Ability to operate industrial systems and production machinery safely and reliably. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Willingness to complete up to 4 weeks of training and follow established procedures. Experience in assembly, inspection, general labor, quality control, general production, quality inspection, automotive manufacturing, or machine operation. Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in automotive manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with die cast machinery. Experience working with aluminum and/or steel materials in production. Familiarity with tier 1 automotive parts manufacturing operations. Comfort working in a multi-department facility that includes Assembly, Die-Cast, Shipping & Receiving, and Steel Departments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a tier 1 automotive parts manufacturing facility operating three shifts. This position is on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with mandatory overtime over the weekend for a typical 55+ hour work week. The environment is a clean, eco-friendly plant equipped with die cast machines, production machinery, and supporting equipment for assembly, shipping and receiving, and steel operations. You will work around metal parts, including aluminum and steel, and use industrial systems and machinery as part of daily operations. The facility provides uniforms and a cleaning service at no cost, and offers cash reimbursement for safety boots and safety prescription glasses, supporting a safe and consistent dress code. Employees have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, on-site convenience store, and ATM, and work within a structured, high-volume production setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and precision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericktown, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.95 - $19.95/hr.
